Google köper Jaiku!
Wow! Enligt Jyri Engström på Jaiku har nu Google köpt Jaiku, och det är ett uppköp som jag blir riktigt, riktigt glad över. Som jag tidigare skrivit om finska Jaiku är tjänsten grym, och som oftast har Google ett gott öga till bra tjänster precis som Jaiku.
Själv kommer jag att följa denna utvecklingen med stor spänning framöver och även hur Google kommer att koppla ihop det hela med deras andra tjänster de tillhandahåller.
Jaiku har startat en FAQ om köpet som just nu är ganska torftig, men en del intressant står det såsom:
Q: Why did Google acquire Jaiku?
A: Activity streams and mobile presence are important areas where we believe Google can add a lot of value for users. Jaiku’s technology and talented team are a great addition to Google’s current application and mobile teams.
Q: What are Google’s plans for Jaiku?
A: We are excited to welcome the Jaiku employees into Google. While it’s too soon to comment on specific products and development plans, we’ll be working with the Jaiku team over the coming months to expand their technology in ways we hope you’ll find interesting and useful. Check back in a few months to see what we’ve developed.
